When we die how can we into a special kind of sleep but be standing in the presence of God at the same time?

The bible speaks of 2 deaths. The second death occurs in the resurrection that is where you true place will be. When we die the soul lives on. Hell is where some are sent but they are still not in the lake of fire which is the worst of all. They go to this place after judgement(second death). Those that died in christ are resting in the presence of almighty God. But after their resurection they will enter the kingdom of God.
