Pleaseee help, hairrr question.?

Ive dyed my hair in the pasttt probably more than I should. But its been almost a year sincee, i last dyed it. My hair is naturally CURLY! very curly, & itss really short . a few inches above my shoulders. Anyway, I straighten it everyday, & its really damaging it, & making spilt ends & frizz. But one of my friends has hair exactly like mine, & herr hair is always pin straight & silky smooth alll day! is there anything I can do to help, my hair, get thiss way??? pleaseee help
